I got this error code, (low fuel vent vapor pressure) can't remember the number right now, but sent the engine into Safe Mode, then died out. Same thing happened on the exact same day last year. Got towed home each time but thankfully by good Samaritans who were just passing by.
I figured out I had air in the inline filter. After turning the key on and off several times, I was able to get it started and cruise on home. Wife was not happy.
Any way, I read up on the system from the service manual and noticed there was a change to the newer models where there was added a mechanical pulse type diaphragm fuel pump. Is this a common problem that required an alteration? Does anyone know if you can add the new mechanical pump to the early model G2s without drilling 2 holes in the block?
I tightened down all my hose clamps and did a pier side power run and then after about an hour with no fault, a full power run. Couldn't get it to suck air again.
