Hi all,

first of all i'd like to introduce myself. My name is Philipp and i'm here for 3 years. This year i decided to buy me a boat. It is a 1995 17Ft. Four Winns Freedom with an 3.0 OMC Cobra i/O.

The boat runns great and i have a lot of fun with it. But I found in the spec. that the max RpM should be 4200-4600. When im driving with full throttle im only reaching something around 3000 RpM.The boat is equipped with 19'' propeller.

With that Rpm you have 2/3 of the throttle open. If you now got to WOT the engine doesn't rotate faster, but its getting a deeper sound like it wants to have more air or fuel...

So next idea was, to check fuel pump and fuel filter, but i have only found the pump. No idea how to check that?

Can you expirienced guys help me how do i find out if there is a filter, where is the filter and how do i check it if it is cloaked or clean.
And how do i find out igf the pump is working popably or not?

Thanks for your help.
Philipp

My gawd man, get over it. One newbe comes in hear and you go overboard on the whole OEM manual thing with him and he spouts off his opinion, and suddenly it's brought up on every post that you got your butt kicked???? Give it a rest.
