Low RPM miss in my 89' 110 johnson

Hey guys. This is not a big deal really, but just a little irritating sometimes. My 89' 110 johnson has a slight miss/hesitation when accelerating between 1200 and 1500 rpm's. It shakes and lurches around and runs like a built chevy 350 with a high per. cam in it! Once it gets through this rpm range and on to 1600+ it smoothes right out and runs on up to it's recommended 5800 rpm in a flash. I cleaned/rebuilt the carbs about 6 months ago, and it didn't matter. My father has an 87' 90hp rude on his Boston Whaler Montauk (same motor basically) and it runs smooth as silk in ALL rpm ranges. Any ideas?
