Low Voltage

Hi all,

My Voltage gauge is reading 10-11v. Cannot run my accessories. Reads 10-11v with key on. I start the engine and it still reads 10-11v. All other gauges over-read slightly (fuel, oil px, temp). Ran it for a couple hours and on the lake and it seems to work ok.

Cleaned wire to the starter. Starter also seems a bit weak

This happened a couple weeks ago and I cleaned up the wires on the alternator and the problem disappeared. Did the same thing with no joy.

any ideas???

Boat gauges can be off, Use a handheld meter and measure battery volts when running. Should be 14.5V about 1000 rpm

Found it!! Extensive wire tracing and found the break.
