I like using the pump with the screw in adaptor, so that there is no leakage, as compared to the tubes that you used. It is fairly cheap and saves clean up and mess. The adaptor screws into the drain hole, then you just pump the handle until you see the fluid exiting the vent hole. Screw in the vent screw (and dont forget to add the new gasket!!), remove the adaptor, then screw in drain screw, with new gasket. I also just looked in my manual, since I did not know off hand, but my 76 V6 gearcase holds 44 ozs, although that would not mean anything to you.
