Lower Engine Cover on a E90TLETS 1993

Can anyone give me some advice on how to get the lower engine cover off on a E90TLETS 1993? Im trying to replace the thermostate but i cannot get in close enough to get it out since the lower engine cover is so close to the bolts?

Unless im going about changing this thermostat all wrong, im not sure.

Sorry changed the engine specs, not sure why i was thinking it was a '91 its actually a '93.
