Lower seal on a 71 20R71S

I was given little engine free and I wanted to restore it. I already replaced all the seals in the lower unit and now I'm working on the engine part. I took all the covers out so I could repaint them. HEre is were I ran into a problem. Removing the engine from the cover I discovered the lower seal assembly had shreaded. Upon taking it out...I had a broken retainer ring. Shreaded upper and lower washers.THe spring was destroyed. About the only part that appeared to be good was the Carbon seal that has an 0-ring in it. Is that the o-ring that is pictured on top of the Johnson diagram?

My questions are. Is there a kit I can buy all the pieces together? I went earlier tonight to Doug Russel marine. I usually check their online prices cause if there is no price...than the items are discontinued. I fould two items that didn't have any prices.
0302539 and 0302594? I didn't get a cross reference for these parts. Can anyone help me. I really like this motor and I wanna restore it. I did notice that for the 801 washer..it's kind of expensive. I wonder if they combined all 3 pieces(upper, spring and lower washer) into one piece?

The #22 o-ring goes around the outside of the bearing shell (not accessable without tearing the powerhead apart).

No, there is no kit that I know of.

I suggest that you use a quad ring # 305098 inside of the carbon instead of the o-ring. It slides better on the shaft to keep the carbon in contact with the bearing. The larger motors already have the quad ring.

I have the spring and two washers, but unfortunatly my e-mail is not working. Verizpn has been "fixing" it for 4 days now. Still no e-mail.

Do you mean that part #23 goes inside of #24?

BTW...I appreciate the help F_R. I tried to PM you ,but it was turned off. I called around and found a place in NY that had all the pieces. WOOOHOO!!

yes, 23 is an o-ring that goes inside the carbon seal. The quad ring that I suggested does the same job, but works better. An o-ring tends to roll when slid on a shaft, a quad ring slides without rolling.

Yeah, for some unknown reason, Verizon cancelled my e-mail account. They said it would take 24 hours to re-instate it. That was 3 days ago. I'm having withdrawel symptoms. And yes, dagnab it, my bill is paid!!
