It seems my prop shaft seals are leaking. I did a pressure test and bubbled up right away. I pulled the seals the hack way and saw that the seals were in wrong. The metal seal was in first and the rubber seal was in second and they were lined up front to back. The metal seal that was in first did not have a seal around the prop shaft it must have warned out.

Purchased the boat last year and I wonder how long has it been like this. Lower unit replacement? My other question is wanted to make sure about the seal placement. My manual does not state the direction nor does mercury website. Rubber seal in first then metal seal and they should be back to back correct?

Thank you. The one behind it was facing the same way and missing the rubber seal that sets around the prop shaft. I have replaced both seals. I have vacuum and pressure check and she holds.
