The Fin On The Very Bottom Of My Engine 115hp Johnson O/b 1985 Is Bending Slightly To The Right Its Not Straight Down I Just Happened To Notice This.. Is That Normal.hmmmmmmm
On my 2003 Evenrude the skeg got bent between some rocks. I took a 5 lb iron block wrapped in a rag and held it at the top of the skeg against the gear case and gradually tapped the skeg streight with a hammer. Filed a little and some paint to match. Looks great.
Bent a little okay but if broke off either by u trying to straighten it or other wise u would lose alot of ur ability to control the boat depending on how much was left. Tashasdaddy has the best advice...
First time i noticed this i was kinda woundering what the guys hit with our marine patrol boat at work. The motor was only a year old and it was a honda, i asked a guy at work who used to work on them and he told me they make them like that to help with the tourqe steer. The Honda was more pronounced but when i started lookin at other new OBs I noticed most of them have it some are just not as much as others.
