1957 5.5 johnson sea horse- my lower gear oil looks like a frothy milk shake- I assume I am mixing with water somehow. What do I need to do to fix this?
Also - is it ok to use the motor before I get around to fixing it? I put new oil in it today and I want to go boating - not work in the garage.

Keep a close eye on it and you should be good until winter(assuming the leak is small). The number one intrusion point for water is the little nylon gaskets behind the drain and vent plugs. Try changing them each time you remove the plugs and see if that corrects the problem before a major tear down. Best of luck. Rick.
