I hope everyone does not have as many problems as I seem to. this is a 1978 350 260hp mercruiser raw water cooled. I installed new lmpellor pump housing all new gaskets everything involved with impellor is new. I put about 4 hours on it decided to pull impellor after winterizing. I could'nt believe it the impellor already has a set in it.

Let it set for a few minutes and it will open up again. If it doesn't open up to normal within 15 minutes replace it. Heat will cause them to take a set faster than normal, but even after a day it will take a few minutes to sraighten out, even when new.
