Lower unit leaks :( any additives to help?

Hi, so my lower unit leaks water into the oil. It's milky. The problem is that the PO buggered up the threads, so I can't get the spanner nut off to replace the seals. So my question:

Is there any kind of oil additive that I can add to help the seals keep out water just to get me through to the end of boating season. I'll have to save up for a new lower unit, but want to still enjoy the boat for a few more weekends.

Well, your leak can be the driveshaft seal, the shifter shaft seal, the prop shaft seals or the seals/washers on the lower unit drain/vent plugs....Maybe check the washers on the drain/vent plugs....could be something simple/cheap like that....if not those then best to run a lower unit pressure test to identify which seal is leaking. I've had some old leaking motors before and I'd just drain and refill the lower unit each time I put it in the water...it's a bit of trouble but it'll get you on the water in the short term....
