lower unit matching

I am wondering if anyone can tell me what lower units of what model years will fit on a 1999 Johnson 150 outboard with the model # J150plees.

We are looking for a used one and someone has one from another model year and said it should fit.

Also this one we located is in Houston, tx. Is that something that would be iffy to buy from a hurricane area? I don't see how a hurricane could harm it unless it got blown into something and bent or cracked or something like that! The water couldn't harm it could it? any examination from the outside should be enough shouldn't it?

it is easier to know what you found to determine if it will fit.
