lower unit oil 2 hp 1972 mate

Only one hole to change the lower unit oil, how do I know when I have enough oil in the lower unit? All my other motors have the 2 hole system, this is a bit different, do i need to lay it on its side? Thanks.

No, in a vertical running position, simply fill it to overflowing.
