Lower unit oil in 1978 35hp Evinrude

What type lower unit oil do I need in a 1978 35hp Evinrude? Also, how much oil does it take?

I personally like the Evinrude Hi-Vis oil. However it is not manditory and any 80-90 outboard gear lube will be OK. How much does it hold? I don't know the answer to that one.

Thanks F R. Now Im halfway there. Does anyone know how much oil this unit holds or where I might find a chart with the specs?

It should be about a quart--maybe less. If you're changing it yourself, I'd recommend buying the quart bottles of lube and a pump. Have you ever changed gear oil in an outboard before? If you haven't, speak up and someone here will be glad to give you some tips.

Didnt realize I had posted the same thing twice. Anyway, I now have the correct oil in the gearcase and everything is running excellent.
