lower unit oil in 76 200 evinrude

im going to change the lower unit oil in my boat tomorrow befor i take it out, i already have 3 quarts of GM synthetic axle lube 75w-90. will that be ok or do i need lower unit oil?

GMtek.... Personally I have no idea iif that oil is suitable or not. However, keep in mind that your lower unit is expensive. Frankly, I'd fill that unit with what OMC recommends which is "HiVis lube 80/90w". It's available at a reasonable cost at K-Mart, Wal*Mart, and of course your local Evinrude/Johnson dealership.
