I recently bought a 1992 88hp Johnson and was trying to change the fluid in the lower unit....I noticed that the liquid that was coming out was milky, like a mixture of oil and water??? Anyone know what might be causing this?? Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Milky lower oil means you have a leaking seal somewhere that is letting water into the lower, you caught it in time and it is fairly easy to fix.

I would order a factory OMC manual first(NOT Seloc-Clymers or any CD), either here at iboats or on Ebay and get a lower unit seal kit, iboats should have that too then get to work, may as well change your water pump too while you are in there.

I normally check my lower oil every other trip by just cracking the bottom plug, oil comes out I am good, water comes out and I know I have a problem.
