I've been looking for a LU for my '94 Johnson 50 hp (J50TLERE) and I'm finding that several people do not have enough information to correctly identify the motor that the LU came off of.
Sometimes they don't even still have the motor to retrieve the model no.
It's easy to cross reference model numbers at http://shop2.evinrude.com/ext/index.aspx?s1=b293dd3b503703f7d0c8e115751b2d29 but that is IF the model no. is available from the seller.
Is there a stamping, tag, measurements, or physical characteristics on a LU itself to positively identify it for cross referencing?
