Lower unit problems: part deux

Well, after going to harbor freight to get a large set of snap ring pliers, I got the lower unit totally apart.

It looks like the edges on the clutch dogs forward side, and forward gear were worn down a bit. So nice to know when I get the new gears in I SHOULD be able to enjoy the boat...... if it is not winter by then!

I bought this gear set
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0456158877&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWNX:IT
and sure enough, it appears the clutch dog, pinion, forward, and reverse gears are different  Friggin A!!!

If I ever get this thing back together, I will post what snap ring pliers worked, gear puller, ect so the next schmuck who attempts this with a similar model will know what they need before diving in....... it takes way to long if you need to keep stop and go for tools/materials :(

Any chance to return them since they are listed wrong?

Yeah, they are working with me on it right now, but will not get a for sure answer until tomorrow when they are in the office. They so far have been A+ with customer service :D

Hopefully I can get the correct ones quickly so I can see what else I need to put this bugger back together.

So far I think it is only
lower unit oil
gasket sealant
omc tripple guard grease
and a few hours, and lots of luck with the shift rod.....
