lower unit's drive shift is stuck

Greetings to all, I removed my lower unit that was mounted on to Evinrude 225hp 1992. The thing is that I pried it with a crowbar and here is where the problem is the drive shift is frozen on to the motor end. So basically the lower unit came off without the drive shift. Any suggestion would be dearly appreciated of how to remove the driveshift from the motor. Thanks in advance.

the lower unit came all the way off without the driveshaft? If so, you may have opened a can of worms.

If you can turn the engine upside down, spray PB blaster or something into the joint and let it sit. If not, get a pair of really good vicegrips, clamp em on the driveshaft in a safe area and then hammer down on the vicegrips to try and remove the driveshaft.

You probably have a two part driveshaft, so repair may not be that difficult.

Focus on removing the driveshaft. Sometimes rocking the shaft back and forth while someone turns the flywheel will loosen it. Be careful though, too much force can crack the crankshaft.

Take the sparkplugs out and turn it by hand.
