Lowrance HDS Slow GPS refresh rate

Hello all

I just downloaded the latest version of software 3.5 and it still didn't fix my problem. The GPS refreshes so slow I can't anchor up on a spot to blackfish. My older lowrances combos all got me right on the spot first time everytime with nice and smooth GPS refresh rates.

This new HDS jumps all around and the refresh rate is slow.

I see that there is a upgrade for a external antenna to make it 5x more update rate and more accurate.

I do have a cabin "but" I know 2 other people with no cabins and they have the same problem even after I updated theirs too with the 3.5 software. And also heard of at least 2 or 3 people with cabins that say the internal is fine. Why should I have to pay $250 more when I just shelled out $1300 for a combo unit just to have accurate sonar. For $1500 I could have got a 898c SI Combo.

Please can anyone help me out with suggestions and/or your experiences that you have had with the HDS series too?

Well I fianlly got help by someone on the The Hull Truths forums. A guy by the name FISHTON. Check this out anyone who had the same problem with the HDS GPS refresh rate.

what hds unit do you have?

Here's another tip if you have 8 or 10 go into advance set up and go into inferface and turn off the fly wheel, lowrance back light also go into hardware and turn off the items your not using.
