Hello everyone. I'm looking to buy a new sonar/GPS. The two I've narrowed it down too are the Lowrance LMS-480 or the Eagle FishElite 480. I know they are made by the same company. The question I have is they both look to be the same. the only difference I can find is the Lowrance has 4000 watts peak to peak power. The Eagle 1500. They both use the same transducer so what will the 4000 do that the 1500 watts won't. I live on the Mississippi River and that's where it will be used 80% of the time. The depths never go past 40 feet. Most the time it's 20 or less. It is muddy water. The Eagle is $100 less. I'm not afraid to spend the extra if it will make the difference. I'm using a Humminbird 300DX? now and it's only good for telling me the depth when I'm not going to fast. Thanks for any help you can give me. Damie

Benelli<br />Only difference I see is the power. If You are not fishing over 80 to 100 feet then you have enough power with the Eagle FishElite 480. If you will ever fish saltwater over 100 feet get the Lowrance LMS480, or the LMS480df. Both units have the standard 20 to 21 degree 200Khz transducer. The Lowrance LMS480df would come with the 200khz 12 degree / 50khz 37 degree transducer.
