Lowrance/Transducer issue

I have a Lowrance X-85 and tried a few years ago to install a second one (X-96) for the rear of the boat while fishing the ocean. The second one doesn't work well, but does on another boat I have. I posted about this a while back and it was suggested that the two transducers were too close together. So, for a test, I disconnected the first one and tried the one with the problem and it didn't help. Can the speed/temp interfere with it or do I have a bum (new)transducer?

The one on the right is the one that's giving me problems.

Re: Lowrance/Transducer issue

Doral, try moving the transducers (both) more toward the gunwales...they need clean water (no turbulence) to operate effectively.

If you can see here, the two on both sides, (closest) to the outdrive work fine. The one farthest to the right is the problem one. This problem happens when sitting dead in the water too. A head scratcher for me.
