Not sure if anyone out there can helkp but I'm out of options. Bought a boat with a Lowrance X75 Depth/Fish Finder and when it is turned on it reads only "0.0 feet".
Simulation mode works fine but nothing else. Transducer is mounted and adjusted properly. Could it be a bad transducer? Unit comes on and you can scroll through the menus but doesn't read depth???
Thanks

twick

Does the 0.0 feet flash or what? I have a lowrace LMS-240 with built in temp on the ducer, and it went out and the temp would only flash 32.0 degs. called lowrace and they replaced it.

CatCruzer

CatCruzer-
Yes, it flashes "0.0" feet. Was your replacement under warranty? I'm fearful because this unit is out of warranty - 1997 vintage...
Thanks

Re: Lowrance X75 Trouble

If you put your ear near to the transducer with the system operating you should be able to hear it "clicking" if the transducer is working. I would reckon that it is not. If any of your mates has a similar unit try putting your machine onto their transducer to prove which part of your system is down. I have had Lowrance gear for years and have always been impressed with their backup so don't worry too much.
Andy

Just to make sure.. It has to be in the water. Sorry if that is assumed but you never know..

Twick
Problem can be in unit or the transducer and can also be a setting. To start with make sure your are running in auto mode. It reads 0.0 but does display show the bottom?? Try turning up the sensitiveity until the screen goes dark with lots of false returns.

In shallow water put your hand or foot under transducer and see if can feel the pulse. Can also sometimes here the click. Make sure have a good 12 volts going to the unit. Look in your manual and do a system reset or call Lowrance and work with their support. Find out the flat rate. If you can not find another boat that unit will fit can buy a transducer for about $45. Can be transmitter in unit.
Good luck.
