Lowrange 522 IGPS and Yamaha fueln management

Hi all

I am having problems connecting my Lowrance 522 IGPS to my Yamaha fuel management (FMM).

I have connected the yellow wire from the Lowrance NMEA 0183 port to the white wire on the FMM. All dip swithes are set correctly, but the FMM gets no signal from the Lowrance.

The lowrance manual displays the yellow wire (transmit) and the shield (ground) needs to be connected, but the Yamaha rigging manual says to connect ONLY the white wire ???

I have tried almost everything, but nothing helps.

Can any of you guys help me with the problem.

I may be wrong but I though it was supposed to be hooked up the NMEA 2000
buss. Even after hooked up you have to go into the menus and turn the function on. Make sure you are hooking it up to the correct buss.

The Lowrance 522 does not transmit GPS data through NMEA 2000 due to the internal antenna.
Both the Yamaha Rigging Guide and Lowrance manual says NMEA 0183, so I expect this to be okay.

But I was wondering if the NMEA 0183 transmit should be activated in a Lowrance menu, but I can't find it in the manual.

I have a 3500C but the menus are all pretty much the same it will be in the menu tree i just can remenber it right now BUT it is OFF

I have just been through the manual once again, but it doesn't explain anything about it.

If you could point out which menu contains the on/off settings I would appreciate it very much.

You can go to the lowrance web site and download this LMS-522C iGPS Emulator (17.3 MB) Download . You my have to change pixel size to run it to 1024 by 768 pixel

Both Lowrance and FMM are now connected to same ground, NMEA 0183 output is enabled in the Lowarnce menu.

BUT it still doesn't show the KM/L. (or Miles per Gallon).

Does anyone know what more to try?
