lube color

tough question for the pros here I know, but... I am trying to be sure that I don't do any damage that I can easily prevent. I have an 85 5.0 OMC 800, and is it alright to use the mercury lube in the 3 housing areas?? It is a green/blue color and what I've put in the last 3 changes was always the golden yellow/brown.

Fine. The only place I wouldn't use it is in the lower gearcase of old electric shift models. That wouldn't be yours.

Synthetic is usually a dark greenish color and is an excellent choice for your application.
