i have never owned a merc outboard before what lube do you use in the lower unit ?? it is a 1500 150 horse from 1975

i meant eynth or a certain brand with a certain additive ?? i am new to this havent owned a boat in about 10 years or so

You can Mercury Premium, or Mercury High Performance in that unit. Just don't mix them. Others may work, but these are recommended.
