Yes, that's what I'm saying. If you were to read your owners manual for your vehicle, you would probably see that it says that you can go 5 to 10 thousand miles between oil changes. Competition is keen these days & one of the selling points is lack of maintenance. They are always trying to boost the intervals there. For example, the engine tolerences & filtering capacity of the oil filters these days is so great that you only need to change oil every 10,000 miles now. Don't ask your local Jiffy Lube about that though, they will tell you 3000 miles like it was in the 60's so they can change your oil more often. Who you gonna' believe, them or the owners manual? I know it says under adverse conditions, but who drives that way? Your not a maniac are you?

Re: Lubedude

Thanks ZmOz....<br /><br />I personally would never go more than 5,000 miles on dino and I would never take my vehicles to Jiffy Lube.<br /><br />I do all my own maintenance and use synthetics. Guess that's why my vehicles last as long as they do w/out having to have oil or fluid related repairs.<br /><br />Also, Powerstrokes are known to have tranny problems..given fact!<br /><br />I now have 120,000 on my stroke and I mainly use the truck for pulling. Still on ORIGINAL tranny and my truck is heavily modified! Never would have happend on Dino tranny fluid! (go to http://www.thedieselstop.com and do a search on tranny failures - you'll have months of reading)<br /><br />also, I looked in my owners manual...GUESS WHAT Binlurkin.....FORD recommends synthetic 75W140 for the rear diff...you mean the manufacturer is recommending synthetics!!!!!!<br /><br />Corvettes are required to run synthetics.<br /><br />New Harleys are required to run synthetics.<br /><br />Now, given that the manufacturers are recommending synththetics, GO DO SOME MORE RESEARCH!<br /><br />Dino can never compare to synthetics.....yes cheaper, but not better!

In addition I run the Amsoil synthetic 2 stroke in my 1986 Merc 35.<br /><br />Do you know how many smoking mercs I see!...guess what, you won't see smoke out of mine....The synthetic burns much cleaner and has 0 smoke!<br /><br />I run synthetics in my Honda PWC too!<br /><br />get you a quart of 2 stroke full synthetic and run it....you won't be able to argue against it

Re: Lubedude

Thanks for the compliment Zmoz, you can waste your money any way you want. I see your from the Great State of Oregon, where you all are to stupid to be able to pump your own gas there. Keltoncrew, I know, why would the auto maker tell you to go 10,000 miles between oil changes when 3000 would do? Ever heard of progress & improved technology? Better read your owners manual, bud. You better tell me where artificial anything is better, can you think of something? Who said smoke output has anything to do with lubrication? Are you daft? What's smoke got to do with it? Ain't you a good Republican? "Never would have happened on dino?" Wanna' bet? How come I went 300,000 miles without nothing on my Dino oil beast? Your out of your mind if you think your on to something with a synthetic. But, it's like I said, it's your money to waste as you please.

yes it is my money and I will personally continue to use it!<br /><br />1986 merc 35 with compression 120 120 in both cylinders...that tells me lubrication is good!<br /><br />my political beliefs have nothing to do with this thread, but yes I'm CONSERVATIVE!<br /><br />Trust me...I've read my owners manual...more than once! and yes, it came from FORD with synthetic rear diff fluid.....

I wouldn't argue with this nonsense either if I were you. I've only been in the industry for 20 years, so what do I know? It's hard to argue with "nonsense & crap" ain't it? Well, good for you, I'm a "conservative" too. Only difference is I got some engines here with over 200,000 miles on 'em that ain't had more than spark plugs replaced in them. Oh, yeah, well, I did change the oil & filter every 10,000 miles. Read your owners manual. Dino oil rules! Oh, & this is gonna' kill you, they are Japanese jobs. Go figure! To be polite here. Go ahead, waste your money.

What industry would that be? If it's anything relating to oil, it only makes your advice that much more pathetic...

Re: Lubedude

It's the erl & automotive industry here. I'm not the one with the disclaimer, am I? Do you understand my last post? I'm surprised that they let this guy advertise his snake oil on this site. Or for that reason anybody else? Why does he have a pass? Like I said, it's yo money, waste it as you please, I'm just telling you the truth here. I'm not making any money, am I? But he is ain't he? Duh? Who's more likely to tell you the truth here? Gosh, I wonder? Gee willikers.

Re: Lubedude

I didn't say it was bad, just a waste of money. It's up to you how you waste it. I waste mine on boats, horses, & trucks, not snake oil. What about the disclaimer? It's comical alright coming from you who are to stupid to even be able to pump your own gas. And you think your a Republican? Give me a break. Talk about a Democrat make work program, what a hippocrite. Us California Cowboys already ran one Texas "cowboy?" off this board, or so he claimed to be. And I wasn't even trying to run him off. Spineless Texan. You gonna go next?

Re: Lubedude

You...run me off this board? Please, tell me more, I haven't laughed this hard in weeks. An what the devil does pumping your own gas have to do with ANYTHING? You make it sound like I made up the law. I hadn't noticed you were from california before, but yeah, I can tell you're definately a californian...<br /><br />Please, tell me more about how stupid myself, Oregon, Amsoil, and texans are....<br /><br />"Never fight with an idiot, they'll only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience."<br /><br />Let it be known that I'm not fighting here, but taunting... :D
