lubricants with teflon and marine sealants....only marine or with others work

i am in the process of putting my impeller assembly back together and on the bottom gasket the manual say to put quicksilver marine seal, then the gasket and then the plate, then the other gasket and then the empeller cover....is there something i can get a walmart to substitute?

the manual says to also put quicksilver marine lubrican with teflon on the o-rings for the water tube assembly.....is there something i can get at wal-mart for that as well....i really need to get this back together tonight because i wont have any help putting the drive back on and the boat shops around here are already closed.....thanks

For the perfect seal a good substitute is permatex aviation sealant available at Napa Auto parts. To substitute the 2-4-C grease, I don't know of a good substitute, I use, you guessed it 2-4-C. You'll need some 3M adhesive or bellows adhesive to stick the quad seal in place, and I use it on the water passage O ring on the bell housing, and you gotta glue the rubber ring seal in the bell housing with it too. Any grease is better than none but the 2-4-C is pretty unique.

Gas-ka-cinch works good to. Although my wife swears we only use it because of the girl on the can.

Gas-ka-cinch works good to. Although my wife swears we only use it because of the girl on the can.

can i get that at wal mart? what about marine seal with teflon for the o-rings
