Hallo all,
I am replacing my gimbal bearing and seal in my SX transom and found a thing that I need to question. On the one side of the bearing there are two "openings" in the outer case. It is said in the manual that this is the side of the bearing that must be visuable after installation. I think these "openings" are used to change the inner part of the bearing if you do not change the full bearing incl. the case. Anyway after I install the bearing like this and lubricate the bearing through the grease fitting on the starboard side if the transom the old grease is being pressed out between the bearing and the seal behind the bearing.... not in front of the bearing so you can just wipe it away.... Is this really correct ?
Please let me know if it was wrong to follow the instruction manual
