Good comments, all. I can only add to be careful not to over torque, especially on wheels with disc brakes. Can damage rotors. -Ken

Good point about the age of the thread and thanks for the welcome.

I did a search and forgot to check the age of the thread.

I put antiseize on the studs of all of my vehicles and trailers. Never lost a wheel on trailer, truck or car and Never have a problem removing the lugs nuts, and they are still tight to the torque I applied...

That said, I torque all my wheels to 110-125...

Lots of opinions on this one! I use corrosion protective grease on my studs and nuts to keep water out, torque by hand to "nice and tight", no problems whatsoever for many years. Any water, especially salt water in the lugnut threads can cause corrosion and grief for you down the road. Good Luck!

The OP poster hopefully got his answer, but there is still good information here... For newbies and others that might be doing maint now and come looking for answers...
