Lund Mr Pike Floor Repair

I have a 1998 Lund Mr. Pike bass boat which has several soft spots in the floor toward the rear.

How easy is it to replace the plywood in the floor? Does it make sense to replace the entire floor in lower half of the boat or just repair a smaller area?

Where can I find a diagram of how the sides and floor are assembled?

I am good at repairs and figured that I can fix this myself if I have some of this information.

Also is is best to replace with marine grade plywood or use an alternate material?

All help or suggestions is appreciated.

Many time, but not always, soft spots in the deck will lead to issues with the stringers and or transom. I would always recommend repacing the entire deck and inspecting the above mentioned structure as well. Diagrams of your boats construction might be obtained from the MFG but I don't know for sure. Lot's of threads here on iBoats concerning deck and stringer replacement. Look at the linkgs below your thread for a good starting point.

If you'll post some pics of the interior of your boat I can probably explain the disassembly. Tinnies are pretty easy to take apart.

As for replacing all or some of the deck... You'll be a lot better off to replace the whole bottom deck, it's more than likely just one 4x8' sheet of plywood. Your floor covering won't look the same as the rest of your boat if you just do the bottom deck.

On my 18' Lund ProV, all the deck panels were fastened with ss screws. I bought new screws from McFeely's, carpet & glue from Pontoonstuff.com, sealed the BCX plywood with epoxy resin, and it turned out great. I also replaced all the livewell plumbing/pumps while they were accessable, and ran speaker wire for possible future stereo installation.

Yep, that's pretty much how my Tracker is put together too. It's just digging through the carpet pile to find the screws and figuring which pieces need to come out first.
