sorry to ask this procedure, but i am puzzled at the point of the first timing primary setting, when you advance the throttle is this when you should see 3-4 degrees, i lubed my trigger and tightened the mount it was loose and hanging up, so now i am trying to set the first timing mark and am a little confused,,, i read and printed out the great instructions but after reading it word for word with a helper we are still not sure is this at 1/3 throttle, and what about the bb installed in the fuel line,,,, ethanol use , do i have to install a bigger main, or can we treat the fuel and run the timing at 18 degrees, i do not want to pop this motor, my fuel pump when i opened it up had a small check valve laying loose and not attached so iam still needing the check valve assembly, because the new kit i bought yesterday did not come with them,,, any help on the bb install would be great,,,

Ya know, Mercury builds a few different motors. It would sure help to know which one you are working on.

Idle pickup timing is the ign timing when the carbs just start to open. It should be nearly minimum throttle. Check the specs for your motor. Some of those ADI motors call for 4* ATDC idle pickup timing. Max timing is 21* BTDC.
