How terrible.
To take something away form it, though, reading between the lines: 150 yards is too close to a bridge. Both yours and other boats' drivers need to be addressing that obstacle; visibility is impaired.
Also at 7:00 pm due to glare, visibility above and on the surface of the water is impaired if you are going into the sun (or just turning, such as away from a bridge).
Even sober boaters are fatigued by 7:00 p.m. Sunday.

I also saw a 16' ski boat loaded down with like 12 people on it. Just hitting the water at 10:00 PM (We were heading in) CRAZY!!! I think the limit on something like that is 6 people.

Wow, same thing here. After some good running, I decided to raise the engine hatch at a safe/slow point to make sure nothing was leaking/spraying or lingering in the bilge. Before I could register a look at my outdrive reservoir, the first guy going by asked if everything was okay.

All was good and I was on my way.
you are a dying breed i was tryin to wave to people and 50% waved back

and just to make sure all types of boats are represented...

http://www.action3news.com/Global/story.asp?S=12575504y (175 outboard, no craft type mentioned)

stupidity doesn't have any preference for vehicles... Interestingly enough, if you type in memorial day boating accidents into google, most of the top hits are NOT pwc's. Even fishing can be dangerous, one of the top articles is about an older gentleman that fell overboard while fishing. Still searching for him. There shouldn't be a single fisherman on the water that doesn't have a self-inflating life jacket.

Memorial day is ALWAYS bad, no matter what you drive. Lots of new boaters, lots of alcohol, and not much patience.
