Re: MA Saltwater Fishermen

Sorry to hear about that. I seem to get into lots of those projects around the house.

I haven't been out too much. I have been out twice in the last two weeks. The first of these was nearly a skunk. Launched later than I normally do and in conjuntion with the tides caught 1 short striper and lost a few small blues. This day was definitely part of a slow week across the region. Maybe we were between bait hatches or something.

Last Wednesday, I was able to get out early with my neighbor and we had a great morning on the water. Honestly, I was only expecting blues with the water temps well over 70 in the upper bay. However, we ended the trip with 32 stripers (3 keeper size), a couple of small blues and an engine problem that I was lucky enough to resolve on the water. The fish were very shallow (6' to 8') near Barrington.

Except for a little tubing with the kids at lake Pearl, we didn't get out this holiday weekend.

Dan

The outer harbor around Boston light is LOADED with Blues right now. LOADED! I was trolling the other night with umbrella rigs and they were hammered. One of them had so many on the line it bent the rig. The other got so heavy it broke!

See the "fishing Cape Ann" thread for directions on how to get the free On The Water fishing report/forecast for New England by email

Was at Graves light for a dive on Sunday...during dive..spotted several stripers...and tons of dogfish. After dive, tossed a line with squid...after the 4th dogfish swallowed the hook..called it a day. Atleast I caught my first saltwater fish off the boat...it can only get better from here.

-JustMrWill

I was there around noon...I don't recall your boat specificly... I was in the burgangy cuddy next to the center console with a big florecent orange dive flag painted on it's hard-top. We were anchored right off the exposed rocks coming off of the island. (about halfway from island to City of Salbury wreck marker). Shoot me an email (justmrwill <at> yahoo.com) sometime...and maybe we can run into each other (figuratively).

-JustMrWill
