Magma Kettle Barbeque L-bracket screw size?

Hi all,

Could anyone help me with the screw size to the threaded rod that is holding all parts together in the Magma Kettle Barbeque? I bought one on eBay but the L-bracket is missing so I want to make my own but cannot find the rught thread nut. It seems like a M12 screw size, I can screw it to a 1/3 of the nut, that's all. I found a 1/2" nut but this one cannot even bite the thread. Any thoughs? Thanks in advance

M13 is probably the right size but the nut you are using is the wrong pitch (comparable to threads per inch for us oldtimers) I am guessing that the nut you have is a M13 /1.5pitch and you may need a M13/1.25 or vice versa. M13/1.25 is sort of an odd ball so you may having trouble finding one at you local hardware store.
