Re: Major attacks decline in Iraq

Unfortunately they are comparing apples to oranges by comparing July to March. Compared to July of last year, attacks have gone up. In fact they've been going up each July. If you think the dog days of summer are tough here, just imagine another twenty degrees on top of what we think is "Hot".

Just like crime declines on the coldest days of winter here, attacks decline on the hottest days of summer there. I hope the surge is working. I'm just understandably doubtful of anything that is reported by the military connected to this administration.

Beware of the Number Spinners. Anybody with a purpose can skew numbers to justify their point of view.

"The surge is working?" Working to do what?

We have Maliki meeting with Amojinedad (sp?) of Iran plotting strategy going forward.

At this point, the results in Iraq will be determined by Iraqis, and what the US military does is pretty much irrelevant.
I have no doubt many groups, including AlQaida, would just as soon see us remain bogged down in Iraq, as would Maliki who think the Shias are winning this civil war, and why would he want to mess with that.

There's not much the US military can do, other than continuing to offer themselves as targets, to affect the outcome of this mess.

Yes, anytime the number of our troops being attacked are down is a good thing although some don't see it that way.

Re: Major attacks decline in Iraq

The Democrats are totally and nearly unanimously invested in defeat. It is a real shame one of the Great American political parties have allowed this to happen again within the span of a generation. It hurts us as a Country very VERY BADLY. This is the second time in my life I have seen this type of thing and it really torqued me in the late 1960s through the late 1970s to see dim wits whorshiping Jane Fonda n' John Kerry. At least in those days there were some honorable Democrat leaders resisting the rush to defeat, where are they now, (Lieberman is no longer a Dem)? Thank God for Ronald Reagan! I had hoped the taste of a quick victory in the early 1990s would purge the desire to profit from our distruction as the Dems did after 1975, but it is just a replay of an old strategy to me.

George Soros has again found a way to profit from immense pressure at the margin, (as he did financially with the Pound Sterling and the Asian currencies in the late 1990s). He could not get John F Kerry elected to sink our ship in 2004, but he has had a profound effect on our Nation since that time. Some of the dim wit Dem leaders are now saying "sure the surge is working but the politics aren't perfect" so lets cede Iraq to Islamo Facists!

Why do rational people support those jokers? That is the $100 question. If they, (Libs n' Dems) can arrange defeat n' blame George Bush they surely will. I just hope the dim wits remember, (n' reject the revisionist MSM kool aid), when we loose some cities. Just as Ronald Reagan eventually brought us back to our true character as winners, someone will bring us back from the grip the dip sticks n' loosers have on us right now.

The Democrat party may need to be distroyed. The poison seems to be woven through n through. There is just too many players who openly side with enemies, perps n' criminals in that once GREAT PARTY. HENRY 'SCOOP' JACKSON where are ya???? Respectfully, JR

That's simply not true, MnR!

We said "Don't do it, this is folly!"

I said it back then, and say it now.

That is a flat out lie.

YOU may have said "don't do it," but all those traitors you support were on board with the war. They all voted for it! Even before they were against it. Especially Hillary, she was all over it! Stop lying to yourself.

Maybe you said dont do it but your party agreed there was the WMD.....So wrong PW2.........Oh and by the way.........Too Late either your side needs to come up with some ideas besides run and hide or they should shut up and let the ones who at least have some real ideas beside run and hide try and fix an ugly situation, but hey just keep crying about a war that started in 2003......Yep thats a great way to contribute. Im not political genius and for that matter no genius at all but my kids behave better then many on the left.....sad really.......My kids probably have more of a clue as well. And for your information I think we should have done it different in 2003 as well. We should pounded them into submission and Iraq should be the 51st state by now. We could then send all the illegals to work the oil fields and then we would be able to fix 3 problems all at once.......The war, illegals and high price of oil.....:D

We did pound them into submission......;)
It will take a lot more to win the peace......
Cheney knew better in '94, as the video states.....
I guess he needed to wait 10 years to properly boost Haliburton's profits...;):)
