Folks, after extensive research I cannot find any difference between a 2003 50 HP ELPTO and a 2003 60 HP ELPTO, other than the carburetor main jets, the 50 calls for a # 44 and the 60 calls for a #58, is this all there is to making more Horsepower, they are the same bore, stroke and displacement, part numbers match, I am getting ready to add aftermarket reed valves, and I can re jet the carbs at that time, thank you, Skip

Is there a restrictor plate between the carbs and the intake manifold on the 50? Do the carbs have the same part number (probably not since the jets are different). But the carbs may also have a different throttle bore size. So it may be more than just jets. The 60 may also have a little more spark advance as well so you would need a shop manual or visit a dealer and look at the data decal on the engine.

Thanks for the reply Silvertip, the carbs are the same as far as I can tell, even the factory guys don't have access to all the info, I guess it is a proprietary secret, as far as a restrictor plate, maybe it is the reed valve plate that is different, I guess I will post as I figure it out
