Make my deck stick

OK fella's: Its gonna be deck time soon. The transom goes in this weekend and after that, it's time to replace the deck.

I'm using 1/2" exterior CDX plywood covered on all sides with resin and 1.5oz CSM.

Interesting Point: My stringers are all fiberglass! If I weren't at work I'd upload a picture. They are 3"wide and hollow as if they were moulded and then set in place and sprayed. Its all fiberglass though so no rot... I've drilled holes, sound tested and the like but there's absolutely no wood in them at all. I'm going to give them a top coat of resin to lay the fibers back down because some of them pulled up when we were tearing the old deck off.

My question is this:

When I go to lay the deck onto the stringers should I give the stringers a good coat of resin and let it start to kick and lay the coated plywood on top?

What have other folks used when attaching their deck to the stringers?

The stringers on my Lone Star are the same, like inverted U channel. The original deck was fixed with resin on the stringer tops and then screwed into the stringer with a wood screw. That is what I'll do when I replace my floor.

Resin won't do the job, it's very brittle by itself, glass need to be used for it to hold. You'd be better off using 5200 or PL to glue it down, they'll hold well and allow for some flex and movement without coming apart.

The reason I said resin is because there is a good amount of CSM that's come loose due to years of water infiltration into the old deck. It was all barely hanging on and when we demo'd it, it came up nice and loose on the side where it met the deck.

I think my new plan is to re-lay it all down using resin then lay a new layer of csm over it to make sure it's solid, then use the 5200 to seat the decking down and follow it up with a few overlapping layers of CSM and Roving on the topside to secure it to the hull.

Resin meaning mixed with powdered glass but no woven mat. I think 5200 would be a good choice too.
