My boat came with a brand new stainless prop. It was still in the bag.. It was one of the the things that really polished off the sale other than the price.. He even left me the old aluminum one too.. It has seen better days, but good if there is a prop loss or such...
Anyhow.. I have noticed that my boat is screaming.. The tach says 5000 at WOT.. Hasn't been verified that the gauge is correct, but I am betting it is.. So I ran into one of my buddies on here that has the same engine as mine and is running a 21 pitch.. I asked him how it was treating him.. He said he gets about 4600 @ WOT @ 50 mph gps.. Now I am unsure what my top speed is cause I forget to drag the GPS with me when we go.. My speedo works but the tube fitting will turn up sometimes over 35mph.. Now I am happy with the boats performance.. push down and we are gone.. The rpm has me spooked out..So we don't do any WOT...
I went to a boat show today.. There was a booth with cool looking props displayed.. I asked the guy if he would trade my gently used 19 for a 21. Of course he said no, but said he could take my 19 and make it a 21.. I was like no kidding!
Said it takes a day and kinda told me how they do it.. Gave me his card and said they do it for around $120 plus wrote on the card 20% off..
Now we do no skiing, and I have a tow-able tube but have yet to use it.. Most of what we do is cruise around.. Soak up some rays and swim.. Does this seem like a good way to go about moving to a 21 pitch?? Has anyone done it?
