Making a Fibreglass Tub

This question isn't boat related, but this is the only fibreglass-related forum I could find that popped up in a google search. I know nothing about fibreglass moulding.

I want to build a fibreglass tub that fits into the back of a family van so it can be used as a painter's work van and not mess up the carpets and interior. The tub would ideally conform to the contours of the van and go from the windows down, i.e. just protecting the lower area of the van.

My idea was to cover the part of the rear area I want to protect in self-adhesive plastic sheet (i.e. self-adhesive carpet protection film), then fibreglass directly over the top of that to create the mould.

Assuming I can get the mould out afterwards, is this feasible? Would I need to cover the plastic in a release agent? Any ideas or suggestions much appreciated.

no way to use a family van for painting and not mess up the carpets. I would suggest either get a hitch carrier and keep all paint supplies outside the vehicle in a tub. or get a separate vehicle to use as a painters work van.
