Well, I am in 3 classes this Summer (8 week classes) - 2 of them are on-line classes. :)
I need 3 more classes in the Fall and I will have my AAS Degree in Computer Networking Technology. It will have taken me 2 years and 4 months. Not bad considering I have been working full-time at the same time.
I have also recently earned my Network+ and CCNA certifications. I know the score doesn't matter, but I ROCKED the CCNA test :)

Thanks for all the help and support from here. I haven't been on here much in the past couple of years. But, it may be time to get back to the project boat.

Re: Making Progress on my Degree

Congrats and nice work. I returned to school as a non-traditional student a number of years ago and got my BS in Comp Sci in about two years. Classes were 5 weeks long and I usually took 2-3 a semester and 1-2 a summer. I avoided online classes because I didn't think I'd have enough self-discipline. It was very rewarding. I'd kinda like to get a masters but I can't afford it and the return on investment would probably not be high.

Hiya, I'm new to the board but I saw your post and wanted to say way to go. My wife is currently going to college and working full time so I know what a strain it must have been for you, lol, I feel single again sometimes cause she's so busy. So again grats to you for doing it, that hard work will pay off.

Good show, Chappy!! :)

Never think you are done. I didn't earn my Ph.D until I was 60.

Been thinking of going back to school myself. Now that I'm 65, courses are free at the local university.

Re: Making Progress on my Degree

Thanks everyone. Art, it has been quite challenging. There have been some nights where I don't get home until 10PM and have to get up at 5AM to get ready for work. It has been even more challenging because it is a 45 minute drive one-way to school.
ez, I know what you mean. I have gotten hired at a job that I actually love. I do wish it paid a little bit more, but I am at the point in life where being happy is more important than pay. I just need enough to pay the bills. :)
Thanks JB, that means a lot coming from you. I actually already have one degree in Aircraft Maintenance Technology, but was looking for a change of scenery.
BoatBuoy, If you are up to it, it is very rewarding. I love to learn new things, so it comes pretty easy to me.

Re: Making Progress on my Degree

Way to go. I completed one degree while working 2 full time jobs and started on another in my last 2 years at work. I actually completed my last course for a second degree 3 months after I retired. No need for the degree now, but didn't want to leave it unfinished. You can never go wrong with additional education. You may never need it, but you'll always have it.
