Making sure i dont screw up the floor

I finally made some progress w the notor and im getting ready to tackle the floor. I just had a few questions and then wanting to doublecheck my methods.

basic strategy
1. Cut wood. Any suggestions on this part would be appreciated. We got a contour gauge but the old floor has mostly turned into dirt or nof far from it. Any tips yall could give me on the template making process would be appreciated

2. epoxy the bottom of wood.

3. Is it better to fiberglass the top of the wood before you drop it in or after? Only planning to do one layer.

4. It seems like it would be better to do it after then the glass will cover nail holes after nailong floor to stringers. Which leads to my next question, do you nail the floor to the stringers? How other than the glass do you attach the floor to the boat?

5. If its better to glass then drop the floor in do you use glass tape to attach it to the boat after insertion?

6. How do You attach the floatation if youre not usong pour in foam?

7. How do you attach the carpet to the floor?

8. How do you reattach chairs to ensure that the places you reattched them are waterproof?

After doing some reading i feel like i have a pretty good idea of the process, just dont want to make a stupid mistake. Also trying to minimize trips to the hardware store and want to makensure i have everything i need from one trip.

this is for a 14 ft. Glastron that will be used exclusively for freshwater

First, did you replace the stringers and transom?

Those rot long before the floor

I recommend you coat the bottom and sides of the deck with poly resin. Epoxy is better but unnecessary.

Put some saturated strips of cloth over stringer tops, to help attach the deck to the stringers. Use stainless wood screws (nails can easily pull out) to attach deck to stingers. Now add resin and cloth to cover decking.

Carpet can be installed using indoor-outdoor carpet adhesive. Any holes in the decking (seats etc.) should be backfilled with silicone, before screws are installed.
