About got stranded the other day on the lake. I was sailing along about 45 headed over to the smooth water at the dam to do some knee boarding and drink some beers when my motor skipped a few beats. I slowed down and it died. I pulled the cap off and noticed I could spin the rotor by hand with almost no resistance when I was checking the advance. Tried about 4 times and got it close to in time and headed towards the ramp running it what sounded like very retarded. Anyways I poped it out when I got home and it's spinning inside. Took it apart and it seems all that holds it from spinning is a little clamp held down by one bolt? Any suggestions for making it stay put?

What are you working on? Are you talking about the distributor hold down clamp?

I traced the spinning to here. Seems this little tab is all that holds it from spinning?
