She does look more at home in the water.

I plan to paint her in the spring or fall, that is what she needs most.

Hows that cabin look on the inside? My wife won't go camping, but said she would stay out on a boat with me if I found one with A/C for us...

It sleeps 6 adults in an aft cabin,v-berth, convertable dinnette. I am 6'5" and can stand up in most of the cabin area. AC/HEAT are pretty common with a lot of cruisers and AC can be added as a window unit.

How about some pics of the cabin/galley? She looks right at home on the water. I'm assuming that's you at the helm... You really look like an excited little kid on Christmas:D. Congrats again!!!

Man, you've got it made. I'd say I'm jealous, but I'm just too darn happy for ya!!!

My dream is a 26-28' cruiser with an 8'6" beam. Big enough for extended stays and still trailerable... One day:).

May she serve you well for many years. Take good care of her.

Thanks buddy. We've dreamed and talked of this kind of cruiser for a long time man. Bring your rig up our way and we'll show you the best part of the river man.

I havn't looked into navigating north on the Flint yet. Can you get down to the Gulf from up there? AviatorJim started a Chatahoochie thread in the activities forum months ago. We talked about a trip my family and I have been planning down the ACF to the gulf in the spring. Interested?

If it's navigable, which I'd imagine it is, I'd love to boat up the Flint and meet up with you. Worst case scenario... Well, that's why The Good Lord gave us trailers:D. I'll have my wife and two sons with me. In March/April they'll be 3 & 7. They love the water and the boat (imagine that:rolleyes:).

Meant to ask and forgot, what's the beam on your Cruiser?

Not sure where you could jump to the Tennessee at from the Flint. At five tons we don't drag BOFUS around much now..lol She has a bean of 10'8" also.

Make you way to the Tenn and my 2 and 3 year old would love the company. They love the water and the boat. My son Noah (3), asked this morning what time was I taking him to his boat.

Man, I wish I had that much usable space in my cabin! Love all the wood, too! Congrats and enjoy!

Hey Capt Red.

Those Cruisers Yachts are as common here as Chevrolets. They have a following and many are on their 3rd or 4th one. Once in the Bahamas 9 of them pulled in for a week. All stayed onboard and had a good, comfortable, time. Under proper cirmstances, I wouldn't be afraid to take her anywhere. There are many here still in great shape that lived in saltwater all their life and outlived their drivetrains. 3 to 4,000 hrs on them.

Happy Valentines Day!

Thanks Captain Satso.

I was unaware of their solid reputati; on until I had signed up as her next care taker.

We are planning on doing newteak on the upper and lower decks as well as the swim platform. We are also redoing the formica cabinets, table laminet and a few other areas.

As it stands now 2/14 will be her offical cruise with the Admiral and myself, sort of a shake down cruise. :)

I has to admit I did like playing with the radar too.

Ye Capt. Red, but playing with the radar is a good thing. There are so many variables involved it takes practice in different situations to get the best use out of one. I found a video that helped me, but now days you probable can find something on youtube. That radar can be your best friend if fog sets in or a storm brews up.

Good Luck! :)

Re: Man this is killing me

Last week I was running out in the Gulf in the fog and the radar crapped out. We fell back on the chart plotter and slow speed and missed our platform three times. It was that industrial strength, night mare fog that you wait for something scary to come out of.

I really like to travel at night so radar is important to me. Something sort of romantic about being the ship passing in the night or in my case the boat. Since my cargo primarily is my family, nothing is too safe.

Skip, We have a 110? crew boat the Captain is about 77 years old and he?s taught me a lot just by giving advice and taking me out and showing me stuff. I stick to the commercial rules of the road and operate my boat as if it were a charter and try and being a professional mariner in that aspect.
