I just purchased a 1983 manatee 19 ft. tri-hull with a fan tail or whale tail. the boat seems heavy and has a closed double bottom. How does one know if there is water trapped under floor without drilling or other wise removing part of floor. would the double bottom be filled with foam or just open with stringers? boat seems really sensitive to weight changes from side to side. former owner added electric trim tabs which helps to keep boat level. just would like to know if water in bottom is a possible problem. thanks

Re: Manatee Boat

Take it to a truck scale and weigh it. Water adds a lot of weight and it will show up. I have weighed my boat twice at the local truck stop and was not charged either time.
