Manfiold and elbow gasket replacement / torque and bolt question

Hello boaters,
During the winter I have inspected and repainted my manifolds + elbows. It looks fine,
my question is, after torquening the bolts should i re-torque them after 1st boating?
I cannot find this info and also I cannot find torque values for manifold and elbows..
I have also new gasket with restricted flow

Should the restricted hole be mounted as in the mercruiser diagrams towards the rear of the boat?

And questions regarding bolts, new bolts have red loctide i guess, should I put red one again or i can replace it with perfect seal?

Iirc the torque spec for manifold/riser is 25-35 lb/ft. Only reason I remember is to me it seems low but it is the spec. Can't recall ever using a torque wrench on those bolts, my method is tighten, run it and move on the next project, ymmv

I replaced my manifolds and elbows recently on a 4.3L, my manual called for 33ft lbs and to retorque after a heat cycle.

I would use a low strength loctite, like 222.

When You go to parts catalog, here is the picture:
and there, you see the gasket with restrictor hole towards the back of the boat,
but on this picture: it says: Restrictor hole always opposite of the exhaust riser

Ignore the position on the 'parts catalogue', that's all it is, a parts catalogue, not an assembly drawing. The manual I posted from is the genuine Merc service manual #37 (Dry-joint exhaust systems), page 7B-7....

I think I'd trust the (genuine) service manual before a parts catalogue...

Ok good night here its early evening, Ive found #37 is for V8 only but Ive got V6 with Dry joints, wondering why

Chris, I dont have loctite 222, only blue one or the red or perfect seal
Do You think its safe to use blue or perfect seal or better to buy 222 /purple threadlock?

I think 242 is the blue and 262 is red. Both are stronger than you need.
