Manifold Gasket Questions

I've seen numerous posts on this subject.

I have a 1999 Mercruiser 7.4 MPI, replacing manifolds and risers.
Do I need to put any sealant on either gasket? I read somewhere where
it should be put on the riser gasket, but not the manifold gasket.

Also, should something be put on the mounting bolt threads to insure no water leaks?

Thanks Guys

Re: Manifold Gasket Questions

No sealant on riser gaskets if you are using the OEM gaskets. Never use sealer on the manifold to block gasket.

Thanks Don,

How about the mounting bolts? Any silicone on the threads?

I like anti-seize on threads......especially when used at high temps.
Kinda like the anti-seize they sell for spark plugs threads. A tiny bit goes a long way with that stuff.
