Hello, I've got a 1996 mercruiser 5.7 engine. I'm replacing the exhaust manifolds and riser/elbows and they have a 3" spacer between them.My question is which gasket to use. I've attached a picture of what I have. The new manifolds come with 2 gaskets pictured on top with 2 slots and 2 small holes, the 3" spacers came with 4 gaskets seen at the bottom of the picture with 4 slots. I'm thinking the gasket with 2 slots goes between the manifold and the spacer and the gasket with 4 slots goes between the spacer and riser but just want to be sure. Any advise would be greatly appreciated, thanks. IMG_2249 (478x640).jpg

the open gasket (4 slots) goes between the manifold and the 3 inch extention,
the restricted one (2 slots, 2 holes) goes between the 3 inch extention and the riser

I'd throw them GLM gaskets away and get some quiksilvers! OEM. I know that's not your question but with something as important as a manifold riser seal I'd want the best.

I'm a big proponent of good gaskets myself. But those appear to be the correct style. If they are metal with a coating of graphite they are the good stuff.
