manifolds V8 5.7l

Pulled my manifolds and risers on my RWC Mercr 5.7 carb 260hp since my coupler is being replaced next week- found some scale buildup/clogging where is meets the riser- any tricks to cleaning out manifolds and risers besides flushing out with a garden hose? .. engine has less ~ 150 hrs on it.. thanks..

Gentle persuasion with scredriver or pick works fine. Blow out the loose bits with an air hose if possible. Some like to do the acid bath, but I have never favored the idea of taking off more metal than I need...<br /><br />Be real sure your riser and manifold surfaces are clean and square before reassembly.
